Tukey is an Opportunity Radar for YouTube creators. It studies your connected YouTube channel and proposes specific, evidence-backed video ideas that fit it. This page explains how to get help, how Tukey connects to AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude, what those assistants can do with your account, and how to disconnect them.
Tukey currently works with YouTube channels only. Instagram and TikTok are not currently supported.
Getting help
Email support@tukey.ai from the address on your Tukey account and describe what you were doing, what you expected and what happened. Screenshots help. Never include a password or an access token in an email.
For questions about your personal information, or to request access to or deletion of your data, email legal@tukey.ai as described in our Privacy Policy.
Connecting Tukey to ChatGPT or Claude
Tukey offers a remote MCP server at https://www.tukey.ai/mcp. You can connect it from any assistant that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth. Tukey supports automatic OAuth client registration, so the assistant registers itself; you only sign in and approve.
Before you connect, you need an existing Tukey account that currently has access, one active connected YouTube channel, and a completed channel profile. If your account has access but the channel or profile is not ready, authorization may complete and Tukey will truthfully report that the channel, profile or opportunities are not ready yet. If your Tukey account does not have access, authorization cannot complete and no Tukey account or channel data is returned. The public server address does not provide open signup or self-service access.
Tukey is not yet listed in the ChatGPT Plugin Directory or the Claude Connectors Directory, so for now you add it as a custom app or connector. Menu labels may vary while these features are in beta.
ChatGPT. Full MCP support in ChatGPT, including write actions such as Tukey's two action tools, is currently subject to ChatGPT plan and workspace controls.
- Business, Enterprise and Edu. A workspace Admin or Owner, or a developer they authorize, enables Developer mode, opens Settings (or Workspace settings) > Apps > Create, enters
https://www.tukey.ai/mcpas the server URL, selects OAuth, completes the authorization (sign in to Tukey and approve the consent page), lets ChatGPT scan the tools, and creates and enables the app. - Pro. OpenAI currently limits custom MCP use on Pro to eligible read/fetch capabilities in Developer mode. Tukey has not separately canary-tested the Pro surface. Do not rely on Tukey's two action tools being available on Pro.
- Other plans. If your plan does not offer custom MCP apps, you cannot connect Tukey to ChatGPT yet.
Claude.
- Pro and Max. Open Customize > Connectors > + Add > "Add custom connector". Enter
https://www.tukey.ai/mcp, then continue with the OAuth settings Claude detects. - Team and Enterprise. An Owner, or another role your organization authorizes, first adds the connector under Organization settings > Connectors with the same server address. Members then connect it under Customize > Connectors.
In both cases you are sent to Tukey to sign in (email and password, or Google) and then to Tukey's consent page.
What you approve on the consent page
The consent page names the assistant that is asking and shows the address that will receive access (for example chatgpt.com or claude.ai). Check that the address matches the assistant you are using before you approve.
Approving gives that assistant:
- Read access to your Tukey account: which account is connected, your channel profile, your current video opportunities and the evidence behind them. Tukey never shares your YouTube analytics or private channel insights with an assistant.
- Two actions, used only when you explicitly ask for them in the conversation: recording a rating on one of your video opportunities, and starting one as a Tukey video workspace.
Tukey never publishes to or changes your YouTube channel, and an assistant cannot do so through Tukey.
You can choose Cancel on the consent page. Nothing is connected until you choose Allow.
What a connected assistant can do (the six tools)
- get_profile — Tells the assistant which Tukey account is connected (your account's name and email address), so it can tell accounts apart. No channel data. Does not change your account.
- get_channel_profile — Describes your connected YouTube channel: what it is about, its formats, voice, hooks, audience, and subscriber and video counts. Does not change your account.
- list_video_opportunities — Lists your current video ideas with title, premise, angle, hook, why it fits, why now and how much evidence backs each one. Can include your saved ideas. Does not change your account.
- get_opportunity_evidence — Shows the dated sources behind one idea. Does not change your account.
- rate_video_opportunity — Records a keep, weak or reject rating on one idea, exactly as if you had rated it in Tukey. Changes your account, when you ask.
- start_video_opportunity — Starts one idea as a Tukey video workspace and saves it. Starting the same idea again returns the same workspace. Changes your account, when you ask.
Actions happen only when you ask
The two action tools change your Tukey account. A connected assistant is instructed to use them only when you clearly ask, for example "mark the first idea as weak" or "start the second idea in Tukey". If an assistant rates or starts something you did not ask for, you can change the rating in Tukey, remove the workspace in Tukey, and disconnect the assistant as described below.
Starting an idea twice does not create two workspaces: the second request returns the first workspace.
Disconnecting an assistant
The reliable way to end an assistant's access is inside Tukey: open Connections, find the assistant under Connected agents, and choose Disconnect. This deletes that assistant's authorization and its tokens on Tukey's side.
- Disconnecting from inside ChatGPT also ends Tukey's authorization.
- Removing the connector inside Claude does not by itself end Tukey's authorization. Use Tukey's Connections page as well.
- After you disconnect, Tukey issues that assistant no new or refreshed tokens, and Tukey's server is designed to refuse an access token the assistant already holds on its next request. In any case, an access token expires within one hour of being issued.
To connect again later, add Tukey from the assistant again; you will be asked to approve it on Tukey's consent page.
Troubleshooting
- I can't find the setup menu. Labels vary by plan and while these features are in beta. In ChatGPT Business, Enterprise or Edu, a workspace Admin or Owner (or an authorized developer) must create the app; in Claude Team or Enterprise, an Owner adds the connector first.
- Action tools missing. ChatGPT capabilities depend on the current plan and workspace controls. Pro may be limited to eligible read/fetch capabilities, and Tukey has not separately canary-tested that surface. Rating and starting always remain available inside Tukey itself.
- The assistant says it could not reach Tukey or sign-in failed. Make sure the server address is exactly
https://www.tukey.ai/mcp, then try connecting again. If the consent page appeared and you approved it, remove the connection in the assistant, disconnect it in Tukey's Connections page, and connect again. - The consent page says my account doesn't have access right now. Your Tukey account does not currently have access. Contact support@tukey.ai.
- Tukey says there is no channel. Connect a YouTube channel in Tukey's Connections page and make it the active channel. Assistants only see the active channel.
- Tukey says the channel is not profiled yet, or there are no ideas yet. Profiling and the first batch of ideas take time after a channel is connected. Check back in Tukey; the assistant will show ideas as soon as Tukey has them.
- An idea I rejected is missing. Tukey withholds topics you declined for a while. This is expected.
- The assistant answered a question about my view counts without Tukey. Tukey does not provide per-video view counts or performance analytics, and assistants are told not to use Tukey for those questions. Use YouTube Studio for analytics.
- The assistant lost its connection. Connect Tukey again from the assistant; you will be asked to approve it on Tukey's consent page.
